Garden of Glory

Posted in Grizzly's Garden, Nature's Beauty- Photography with tags , on November 28, 2012 by grumpygrizzlyfarms

It’s true that our garden created itself. We had no experience when we planted our first small garden two years ago. In the second year our garden and our passion exploded and soon filled an acre. Our four hands put in the hard work and we filled an empty space with life.  We have been rewarded over and over again in numerous ways. Whether you have a small space or a large space, 1 plant or 1000 plants, 10 minutes a week or an hour a day,  you too can create the bounty of a glorious garden.

Seeds are life.

Invisible with Nature

I never in a million years thought I would sit in a tree stand.  I never in ten million years thought I would sit in a tree stand with a hunting license and a crossbow.  The verdict is still out on whether or not I can actually shoot an animal.  The only reason that I would ever be able to consider killing an animal is knowing that we would use it as a food source.  I am very concerned about the meat products available today and the prices of meat are going to keep rising.  The truth is the most organic, healthy, lean, and affordable meat is that found in nature.  If in that moment I cannot actually take the animal’s life, I have at least found the beauty of being invisible in nature.

My first Eastern Bluebird sighting in three years!

We have lived in the woods of Brown County Indiana for three years now.  I have developed a deep passion for watching and capturing the beauty of birds through the lens of a camera.  I just happened to be in the right place at the right time to catch this beautiful Eastern Bluebird…it was the first time I have ever seen one in person.  The beautiful blue color caught my eye immediately but after I reviewed the images I was struck by the rust color of his throat and breast against the rusty leaf remnants.   This picture was a wonderful way of reminding me that the colors of nature always have a purpose.
